TOUR ACTIVITIES:
Indulge in the peacefulness and beauty of Doubtful Sound by having an overnight cruise
Experience the unique trip into Doubtful Sound starting with a ferry across Lake Manapouri and then a coach over Wilmot Pass into the Sound. From there board your floating hotel and enjoy a magical overnight stay on board your ensuite cabin surrounded by the natural quiet. Tomorrow’s travel retraces the journey back to the coach.
Explore the many nature walks and try spotting a Kiwi on Stewart Island
Stewart Island is the latest of NZ’s National Park’s and a free day here allows any of the various activities to be pursued. Nearby Ulva Island is a wildlife sanctuary providing up close and personal experiences with the wild life. Sea kayaking on Patterson Inlet, hiking the nearby walking tracks or even a midnight Kiwi watching safari and on the list!
Hike through the beautiful Catlins National Park
The Catlins coastline is a little known treasure chest of tracks, waterfalls and wildlife. The petrified forest on the beach, local sea life and remote lighthouses all combine to create a magical experience.
Get up close to the Otago Peninsula wildlife such as penguins and albatrosses
On the doorstep of Dunedin city is the rugged peninsula with its exposed bays and windswept hillsides. On the headland of the peninsula is NZ’s only mainland Albatross colony and in season we have the chance to watch these magnificent birds hover and land as they run feeding missions out to see for their young.
Touch and taste 500 year old glacier ice on Lake Tasman and hike the Hooker Valley
Do you want ice with that? Experience walking on 1000 year old ice as it races to the sea. This is a 4 hour round trip starting from the glacier snout and hiking through the surrounding rainforest before descending onto the ice with our guide. We stay clear of any big holes and have a fun time looking for hobbits and other rare creatures.
Experience the real New Zealand farm life by having lunch at a sheep farm
As we all know, all good things do eventually come to an end! Still, its hard to imagine a better way of spending it than with a local farming family on their farm, situated near the small rural town of Fairlie. Here enjoy the ambience of being on a real working farm, meet the animals, and perhaps help out in the shearing shed or feeding out.
